With Cabs as Their Medium, These Artists Are Creating Positive Social Change in Their Community
In our fast-paced world, our attention spans can be fleeting, and it can be difficult to enter into in-depth conversations. This speed can be acutely felt in the bustling city of Mumbai. Another key characteristic of Mumbai is that nearly everyone utilizes taxicabs as a primary form of transportation. Armed with this knowledge, graphic designer Sanket Avlani was inspired to use taxis as a canvas for art that could spark important conversations. In this short film, we see how he's teamed up with local artists to reupholster taxis and rickshaws with "social messaging about everything from women's rights to treatment of the deaf and mute."
